Lancaster Police Department Celebrates New Headquarters For Its Police Officers
Investment in a new resource center designed to better equip the City’s Officers to combat crime, improve safety

The City of Lancaster gathered today to celebrate the opening of its new Police Station located at 4481 Sierra Highway. The ceremony featured remarks from Mayor R. Rex Parris and Chief of Police Rodrick Armalin, highlighting the City’s vision for the future and the continuation of its journey toward a safer, more secure Lancaster.

“The groundbreaking of our Police Station is a historic step in the City’s quest to enhance public safety,” said Mayor R. Rex Paris. “We’re committed to providing the highest level of protection to our residents and visitors, and this facility represents a significant investment in the safety and well-being of our community.”

Founded on the principles of unity and commitment, the Lancaster Police Department’s mission is to enhance, support, and supplement the commendable efforts of the LA County Sheriff’s Department (LASD). The Department will be led by Chief of Police Rodrick Armalin and Assistant Police Chief Chris Roberts.
“We are proud to have a place we can call home. With these resources, our officers will be better equipped to serve and protect our community,” said Armalin. “We’re excited about the positive impact it will bring, not just today, but for generations to come.”

The 29,440-square-foot renovated space will be the headquarters of the City’s Intelligence Crime Assessment Center (ICAC), a centralized hub that collects, assesses, and anticipates criminal risks and potential safety threats using AI and predictive modeling, rapid license plate recognition, gunshot detection technology, drones, and cameras. Through this state-of-the-art technology, the City is establishing its Digital Shield Initiative, creating a protective barrier to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents and visitors.

The Lancaster Police Station will be open in the Fall of 2024. For more information about the Department, please visit cityoflancasterca.gov/publicsafety.
