| Lancaster Promotes Community Safety with Ring Camera Giveaway |
Lancaster, CA. March 18, 2024 — The City of Lancaster is proud to announce the success of a recent Ring Camera giveaway event held on Thursday, March 14, at Cedar Center for the Arts. The City purchased 800 cameras to be distributed to eager residents, marking a significant step in the City's commitment to community safety through technology. The giveaway was announced via a mailer distributed to all residents, sharing information about the City’s latest public safety programs. Residents who qualified for the giveaway were invited to Thursday’s distribution event.
"In our pursuit of a safer Lancaster, every step forward is a testament to our community's dedication. The success of our recent Ring Camera giveaway echoes our commitment to leveraging technology for the betterment of all. Together, we're not just building a 'dome of protection,' but a fortress of unity and security,” said Mayor R. Rex Parris. “Let's continue to empower each other, safeguarding our homes and neighborhoods, as we forge ahead with our Digital Shield Initiative."
This giveaway event is a small part of the City's recent Digital Shield Initiative, aimed at utilizing innovative technology to create a ‘dome of protection’ over Lancaster. By providing households with Ring Cameras, Lancaster provides a resource to empower citizens, fostering a safer community for everyone. Residents embraced the opportunity to bolster their home security, with more than 800 respondents to the giveaway application.
