Lancaster Officials Demand Accountability from Caltrans Over SR-14 Freeway Delays |
Lancaster, CA – The City of Lancaster and Assemblyman Tom Lackey’s office is calling on Caltrans to take swift and decisive action to address ongoing delays and shortcomings in the SR-14 North Los Angeles County Safety & Mobility Improvements Project. These delays have caused significant strain on residents, commuters, and businesses, underscoring the urgent need for progress.
“We’ve been patient long enough,” said Vice Mayor Marvin Crist. “While we’ve worked with Caltrans to identify issues and agree on solutions, the repeated delays and lack of follow-through are unacceptable. The SR-14 is a lifeline for our community, and it’s time to deliver on the promises made to our residents.”
Over the past months, the City has collaborated with Caltrans to develop much-needed improvements to the SR-14 corridor, including addressing lane drops, high accident rates, and unpredictable travel times. Despite initial progress, recent setbacks have jeopardized the project’s timeline, leaving Lancaster officials and residents frustrated by the lack of accountability.
