Palmdale Launches Next-Generation Business Watch Program |
PALMDALE, CA - The City is excited to unveil its redesigned Business Watch, offering Palmdale businesses powerful tools and resources to enhance security and prevent crime. This innovative initiative is designed to create a safer community and provide invaluable support to business owners.
At the heart of the groundbreaking program is a dedicated Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy and Palmdale Public Safety team for each participating business, ensuring personalized attention and expert advice. Participants will gain insights into local crime trends, learn to recognize and prevent criminal activity, identify suspicious behaviors and safeguard against shoplifting, fraud and counterfeit currency. Free Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) consultations are also available to help configure spaces to deter criminal activity effectively.
“Palmdale’s transformed Business Watch is free and designed to educate local establishments and their employees on techniques to enhance security,” said Mayor Richard J. Loa. “Crime has no place in Palmdale, and we remain dedicated to equipping our community with the resources and support needed to protect against unlawful acts.”

The cutting-edge program offers a host of benefits, including free Ring spotlight cameras for the first 250 businesses that join on a first-come, first-served basis. By participating, they will not only gain valuable security knowledge, but also build strong relationships with neighboring proprietors, the City’s Public Safety team and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD). Business Watch is available at no cost to any business within incorporated City of Palmdale limits.
“This is a significant step towards achieving a secure community that allows our local businesses to thrive,” said Mayor Pro Tem Laura Bettencourt. “I encourage all business owners and employees to sign up and take advantage of this great program and its many resources. Vigilance is good business, and business is good for Palmdale.”
