| The Lancaster Police Department Cracks Down on Solicitation Along Sierra Highway |
Responding to community concerns about ongoing solicitation activity along Sierra Highway, the Lancaster Police Department (LPD) recently conducted two targeted enforcement operations aimed at addressing prostitution and related crimes in the area between Avenue L and Avenue M.
On October 22, 2025, officers observed several vehicles engaging in solicitation. Two individuals were detained, arrested, and booked for solicitation, and their vehicles were impounded.
A follow-up operation was conducted on October 27, 2025, resulting in five additional arrests for the following offenses:
- 647(b) PC – Solicitation for Prostitution
- 314(1) PC – Indecent Exposure
- 14601(a) VC – Driving on a Suspended License
- No Bail Warrant – DUI
Four vehicles, including one RV, were also towed as part of this second operation.

“These operations reflect our ongoing commitment to restoring a sense of safety and dignity to every part of our City,” said Vice Mayor Marvin Crist. “We’ve heard the community’s concerns about Sierra Highway loud and clear, and we’re taking action. The goal is to make sure our residents and businesses know that Lancaster stands with them and will not tolerate illegal activity that undermines the quality of life in our neighborhoods.”
Chief Rod Armalin added, “Our team is focused on proactive, community-led policing — that means listening to residents, identifying problem areas, and working strategically to resolve them. Sierra Highway has long been a concern, and we’re proud of our officers for their professionalism and persistence in tackling this issue head-on.”
The Lancaster Police Department will continue to conduct proactive enforcement efforts throughout the city in coordination with its partners and the community to ensure safer streets for all residents.
